Build your own reverb drum!

Workshop: DIY Massive verb drum with the Earl of Lunchington

Sunday 21st August at KIPLWarehouse, 136 Roden Street, West Melbourne 
Session 1 11am-1pm and 
Session 2 2-4pm 

Using recycled materials, participants will learn how to make an extremely responsive reverberating instrument with the capacity to generate huge, deep reverberation lasting up to two minutes. This instrument can be played with mallets, bows and fingers and can produce a variety of unique sounds and textures with no need for amplification. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will have a complete instrument and will have gained skills that will enable them to glean maximum resonance from objects and materials as well as an understanding of how most acoustic instruments work.

All materials and tools provided. Although it is recommended that you bring gardening or rigging gloves.

Cost: $45/$30 conc.

A multi-timbral, original instrument assemblage collaboratively designed by Ros and Albert. Featuring PVC pipes, bells made from plumbing reducers, and experimental reverberating percussion instruments on a 2.2 x 2.4 metre frame.
